Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Unwrapped at unwrapped.chat ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Service.

Unwrapped is a free tool that analyzes WhatsApp chat exports to generate shareable "Wrapped" experiences showing chat statistics and insights.

Service Description

Unwrapped provides:

  • Analysis of uploaded WhatsApp chat export files (.txt or .zip format)
  • Generation of statistics, visualizations, and AI-powered insights
  • Creation of permanent shareable URLs for your "Wrap"
  • Free access without registration or account creation

User Content & Consent

Your Responsibility

By uploading chat data to Unwrapped, you represent and warrant that:

  • You are a participant in the chat you're uploading, or you have explicit consent from all participants to analyze and share the chat data
  • You understand that member names and chat statistics will be visible in the generated Wrap and its shareable URL
  • You have the right to share this information and doing so does not violate any applicable laws or third-party rights
  • The content does not include any material that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable

License Grant

By uploading content, you grant Unwrapped a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to process, analyze, and display the aggregated statistics derived from your chat for the purpose of providing the Service. This license terminates when you request deletion of your Wrap.

Prohibited Uses

You agree NOT to use the Service to:

  • Upload chats without proper consent from all participants
  • Harass, bully, or humiliate chat members by sharing their data
  • Upload content that contains illegal material or promotes illegal activities
  • Abuse the rate limits (10 wraps per day) through technical means
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or hack the Service
  • Use automated systems or bots to access the Service
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its servers
  • Impersonate any person or entity
  • Upload content that infringes intellectual property rights

Disclaimers

"As Is" Service

The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

  • Accuracy of statistics or AI-generated insights
  • Continuous, uninterrupted, or error-free operation
  • Fitness for any particular purpose
  • Permanent availability of generated Wraps

AI-Generated Content

AI-generated insights (chat personality, themes, traits) are for entertainment purposes only. They may not accurately reflect the actual content or sentiment of your chat and should not be relied upon for any serious analysis.

Third-Party Content

Unwrapped is not responsible for the content users upload or for any consequences arising from sharing Wrap URLs. Users are solely responsible for ensuring they have appropriate consent to share chat data.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Unwrapped and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

  • Loss of data or privacy breaches resulting from use of the Service
  • Damages arising from unauthorized sharing of chat data by users
  • Any disputes between chat participants about shared Wraps
  • Service interruptions or data loss
  • Reliance on AI-generated insights

Since Unwrapped is a free service, our total liability for any claims shall not exceed $0 USD.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Unwrapped, its operators, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses (including attorney's fees) arising from:

  • Your use of the Service
  • Content you upload to the Service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any third-party rights

Service Changes & Termination

We reserve the right to:

  • Modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time without notice
  • Remove any Wrap that violates these Terms or is reported for abuse
  • Block access from IP addresses that abuse the Service
  • Change these Terms at any time (continued use constitutes acceptance)

Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, graphics, and branding, is owned by Unwrapped and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without permission.

You retain all rights to your original chat content. The generated Wrap statistics belong to you, and you may share them freely.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation before pursuing formal legal action.

Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your data.
